Waypoint privacy policy

Waypoint keeps your links on your Mac. It collects nothing and sends nothing to us.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Waypoint is made by Alexander Sedeke, Prague, Czech Republic. This policy covers the Waypoint Mac app and the Waypoint browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Helium, Firefox and Zen.

In short

Your links stay on your Mac. Waypoint has no account, no server of ours, no analytics and no tracking. We never see what you save.

What the browser extension does

The extension shows Waypoint’s panel in your browser and talks to the Waypoint app on the same Mac, at 127.0.0.1 (your own computer). It talks to nothing else.

The extension does not read the content of pages, does not inject anything into websites, and does not use remote code.

What the Mac app does

The app keeps your links, groups, topics and settings in a database file on your Mac, with daily backups beside it. After you save a link, the app fetches that page’s icon and short description directly from the website you saved, the same way your browser would. When you open a link, the app hands it to the browser you chose.

Agents

If you connect an AI agent (MCP), it reaches the app on your Mac with a token you created, and can read and change your links. What the agent does with that data is governed by the agent’s own terms. You can revoke the token and undo the agent’s changes in the app at any time.

Your control

Everything is yours: export it from Settings › Data, or delete it by removing the app and its data folder (~/Library/Application Support/com.vizis.waypoint). Removing the extension removes its storage.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Questions: hello@vizis.cz. Bugs and wishes are welcome as issues at github.com/vizis-hq/waypoint-releases.
