Groups, facets and topics
Three kinds of tags, each with one job.
| Kind | Answers | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Group | Where do I work with this? | Acme › Billing, Home, Learning |
| Facet | What kind of page is it? | github, gitlab, jenkins, wiki |
| Topic | What is it about? | AI, Design, MCP |
Groups
Groups are your companies, projects and areas of life. They nest — keep it to two or three levels. A link can be in several groups. Links without a group wait in the Inbox.
Groups sort by activity: opening, saving or editing a link makes its group and all groups above it active. Pin to top keeps a group first regardless.
Edit group (in the desktop window) changes the name, the parent group, the logo, where its links open, and which pages belong to it.
Facets
A facet says what a link is. Each has a type — repository, CI, docs or comms — with its own icon and colour. Inside a group, links are bundled by facet. You rarely set facets by hand: a rule like github.com/* → github does it on save.
Topics
Topics cut across all groups. They are how you find things among thousands of links: in the topic map and with #topic in search. One to three per link is plenty.
The link editor suggests topics you already use — ones named in the title or description, common on the same site, or in the same group.
Editing a link
Click Edit on a link to change its title, address, note, topics and groups, or where it opens. Delete moves it out of sight; nothing is erased for good.
